Postponing or Planning a Wedding during the Covid-19 Pandemic
Like most couples planning a wedding, the process can dominate your life. Even if you have a wedding planner you still need to make decisions, it is YOUR day after all. Your wedding day is probably the first topic of conversation when catching up with family and friends. You also have a honeymoon you’ve been planning, your first big trip as a married couple. The Covid-19 Pandemic is a great example of how life can take a 180 and is reminding us that human life is of the utmost importance.
Last week on one of my daily walks, I ran into a client whose wedding I photographed almost ten years ago. I was about fifteen feet away. My arms were extended out, gesturing to hug and then I stopped and said, “We cannot hug and he said with much thoughtfulness, “That’s right, we can’t.” We sat on those words for a second or two before proceeding with our pleasantries and “chit chat.” Every day I think about my current clients on the verge of matrimony and how they are coping. I’ve had many conversations with my clients about their options. I’ve being helping postpone their weddings and rearranging my schedule so I can be there for their new wedding date.
